In a few days it will officially be spring. At the moment that seems far away because we are in a rainy period. The “March stirs its tail” period. However, assuming a positive thought, after rain comes sunshine! Then it is time to go outside. Time to enjoy the garden again.
Outdoor living, the living room in the garden
A trend we have seen a lot in recent years is the extension of the living room into the garden. Many homeowners dream of French doors, because this way they can include the garden even more in the living room.
But even if you don't have that, you can turn the garden into an extension of your living room.
- Provide a place where you can sit dry, for example a canopy. This gives you the freedom to enjoy your garden even on less sunny days.
- Work with the same colours as in your living room.
- Go for a large garden table . A table where you can enjoy your beautiful garden all day long. In the morning you can read your newspaper at the table while enjoying a cup of coffee. And in the evening the table is ideal for eating with the whole family. Barbecue on and live outside!
Outdoor fireplace
After a wonderful day outside, the sun sets and you notice that it is getting chilly while having coffee. Then it is time to light the outdoor fireplace under the canopy. This not only creates atmosphere but also ensures that you can sit outside longer. If you really want to spoil yourself, buy cushions with heating. That way you are always nice and warm. Heater on, wine in hand and it can become very long, warm evenings.
Make it cozy with colors and cushions
Of course, a garden needs more than just a large garden table. We also want a spot in the sun. The large Ibiza, station benches give the garden a lot of atmosphere with their beautiful teak wood and offer a perfect spot where you can enjoy the sun. Actually, this bench is an art object in itself. A bench that invites you to sit down. Now wood is just a bit hard, so the benches lend themselves perfectly to being decorated with a load of cozy cushions. In this way, we create a spot that we never want to leave.
In nature
Of course, it is not only the furniture that gives the garden atmosphere. The entire decoration does. The big difference between inside and outside is made by working with plants outside. Of course, a paved garden requires less maintenance, but it also provides less atmosphere. We will also have to take our natural living environment into account more and more. A paved garden can cause flooding. By using too many tiles, you do not give the water a chance to flow away naturally, which can cause flooding in your garden with all its consequences.
Not only does a garden with a good distribution of tiles and plants create a good atmosphere, by using plants and flowers in the right way we maintain the animal population. Think of bees that come to pollinate the flowers in your garden and sparrows that come to flutter around happily. Animals that are currently having a hard time, partly caused by "concrete" gardens.
Combine with wood
And such a green, nature-friendly oasis you combine with beautiful teak wood . Not only in your furniture but also in, for example, a fence, flower box or decking. Wood is a beautiful counterpart to green in the garden. Together it provides an atmospheric whole.
